1. Benefits of iDEAL | Wero

iDEAL | Wero is the most widely used online payment method in the Netherlands, used by more than 70% of Dutch consumers. Offering it makes it easier for your Dutch customers to shop with you.

  • No chargeback risk: Payment is guaranteed, with funds transferred directly from the customer's bank account.
  • Fast settlement: You typically receive your funds within a few business days.

 

2. How it works 

When a customer selects iDEAL | Wero at checkout, they are redirected to their own online banking service to confirm the payment straight away. The system supports all major Dutch banks, including ING, ABN AMRO and Rabobank.

Key details about iDEAL | Wero:

  • Payment type: Direct bank transfer.
  • Guaranteed payment: Funds are transferred immediately, so there is no risk of chargebacks.
  • Currency: All transactions are settled in EUR.
  • Refunds: You can refund a payment up to 180 days after it was completed. Refunds may remain pending for up to 7 day

3. How much does iDEAL | Wero cost? 

iDEAL | Wero costs €0.29 + 0.50% per transaction.

  • Please note: This fee is in addition to your usual gateway fees. No acquiring bank fees apply, as the transaction is processed directly through the iDEAL | Wero system.

 

4. Setting up iDEAL | Wero through Stripe Connect 

You do not need a separate agreement with iDEAL | Wero. Simply register with our partner, Stripe Connect, directly from your pensopay account.

  1. Log in and go to Account settings > Facilitators > iDEAL | Wero > Configure.
  2. Sign up for Stripe Connect using your email address and a password, or log in to your existing Stripe Connect account.
  3. Complete the onboarding process, including your business information and bank details.
  4. Click “Agree and submit”.

 

You are now ready to accept payments with iDEAL | Wero.

Stripe Connect pays out funds from sales made with this payment method to the bank account you provided during registration.
